Great views from the apartment ,fully equipped establishment ,very comfortable rooms, great service from all staff members . Only downfall was dogs on property and I have a phobia of dogs but the host still went out of their way to keep dogs away to ensure we are comfy. Will definitely recommend

We stayed in the Bright Room, and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Beautifully appointed, comfortable and stylish, with amazing views over the lagoon - watching the light change through the enormous gable window as the sun came up was extraordinary. The kitchen was particularly well equipped, as would be expected. Beautiful bedlinen, warm and toasty beds, great bathrooms and fabulous art! Jenny was warm and welcoming, and the rest of the staff helpful and efficient. We loved being out of the bustle of town itself, and will definitely stay here again when we are next in Knysna.

We stayed there for 4 nights during Christmas and had a fantastic stay. Our children at 11 and 13 loved the place. The room we stayed in (the Shoe room) was cosy, stylish and very well equipped. We could spend hours on the balcony with a picturesque view over the lagoon with the Heads and Featherbed in the background. A nice pool but be aware that it is situated in the garden of the hosts who live next to Guadeloupe Apartments. Even though all the apartments were occupied, it was very quiet, and we almost did not notice our neighbours, not even from the balcony. The staff and hosts are very kind, we even got a Christmas present and cake on Christmas Eve. Thank you for a fantastic stay. We would definitely stay at Guadeloupe again, if we come back to Knysna again.

Jenny and Albin along with staff are top notch. Rooms here overlook the lagoon with amazing views from every room. Beautiful balcony that I had my morning coffee on and my afternoon glass of wine. Easy to get to, safe, secure, SUPER clean in every corner. Attention to every detail (coffee from local roaster - house made rusks) Their Friday night events are amazing. I just can’t say enough about this place. I felt like I was home while on vacation not just by the facility but by the people!
Their cooking school is amazing as well check it out while you are there!

We booked four nights at Gaudeloupe as part of our ten day trip along the garden route and we really loved our time here. We were upgraded to stay in the Bright Room which was so spacious and beautifully appointed with amazing views across the lagoon. We were especially impressed with the kitchen facilities which were the best we have found over many years of self catering. Hardly surprising maybe, as Jenny and Albin are such excellent cooks as we discovered when we joined them for their popular Friday night suppers. We were humbled and amazed by their strength and fortitude to carry on regardless of immense difficulties caused by the June fires.

We had the privilege of spending 3 days at Guadeloupe Self Catering Apartments. We stayed in The Bright room and it was beautiful. The view over the Knysna lagoon is perfect and the apartments have everything you could think of to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. Well equipped kitchen and comfortably furnished. But the highlight is being able to attend the Friday night long table. This is legendary in Knysna and well supported by the locals. Albin and Jenny Kilzer are the owners, hosts and chefs in a wonderfully efficient kitchen. We had the best meal of our entire trip. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly to everyone, you can see that this is what draws people back time and time again. A visit to Knysna is not complete without a visit to the Kilzer's Kitchen. We can't wait to go back to the apartments and the kitchen again.
We visited about 2 months after the horrific 7 June Knysna fire and the damage to Knysna is heartbreaking but they need our support and we found that the service and welcome that we got was amazing. Considering that these folks have lost their home just behind the Apartments in June, their resilient spirit and caring nature is outstanding and deserves to be supported. They are evidence of the Phoenix rising from the ashes.
